What Protolith Labs can do for you

Full-stack product builds & MVPs

End-to-end delivery of web apps and MVPs: backend, frontend, and basic infrastructure. Perfect if you want a working product, not just mockups and promises.

  • Product discovery and scope definition (features, constraints, success criteria)
  • Technical architecture and stack selection based on product goals
  • Frontend development (Vue, React, Astro) and backend development (APIs, data models, integrations)
  • Performance and scalability considerations from day one
  • Launch support, documentation, and handoff

Front-end consulting

Architecture reviews, refactors, and feature work for existing Vue or React projects. I help teams get unstuck, improve performance, and make the codebase less painful to work in.

  • Codebase audits and architectural reviews
  • Vue 2 → Vue 3 or legacy React refactors and migrations
  • Performance analysis and optimization
  • Frontend tooling improvements (Vite, TypeScript, linting, testing)
  • Feature development alongside your existing team
  • Code reviews and technical mentorship for developers
  • Establishing conventions, patterns, and documentation

Product & UI design

Clean, functional product design with a developer’s brain behind it. Flows, UX, and UI that respect both users and the implementation.

  • Product and UX discovery workshops
  • User flows and interaction design
  • Wireframes and high-fidelity UI design
  • Design systems and reusable component patterns
  • UX improvements for existing products
  • Accessibility-aware design decisions
  • Design validation during implementation

Stabilizing fast-grown products

Whether it was vibe-coded or just started fast, some products are shipped early and quickly, and now feel fragile. I help teams stabilize, untangle, and evolve apps that grew without a clear structure.

  • Audits to identify structural, performance, and maintainability issues
  • Untangling rushed or inconsistent logic
  • Introducing clear architecture, patterns, and ownership boundaries
  • Reducing technical debt in a controlled, prioritized way
  • Creating a realistic stabilization and improvement roadmap

*Sometimes the job isn’t adding new blocks — it’s making sure the existing ones actually hold.

Long-term technical partner

For teams that need ongoing help but don’t want to hire full-time: code reviews, roadmap input, and hands-on development each month.

  • Ongoing development support
  • Regular code reviews and architecture guidance
  • Technical input for roadmap planning and prioritization
  • Support during critical releases or refactors
  • Acting as a senior engineer or fractional tech lead
  • Knowledge sharing and team enablement

2 project slots open

I work with a small number of clients at a time so I can actually stay involved in the product, not just hand off tickets. If you’ve got a serious project and a clear business need, let’s talk.

Sounds good, let's talk!

Project calibration

Is this the right kind of engagement?

Use this as a quick check before you reach out. The strongest work starts with a real business pressure, a decision-maker in the room, and room for honest trade-offs.

  • There is a concrete product or operational problem behind the request.

  • You want senior implementation judgment, not just extra ticket capacity.

  • You can share enough context for us to protect scope, timeline, and quality.

  • You prefer direct trade-off conversations over optimistic guesses.

  • Discovery

    01

We talk through your product, constraints, and what success looks like. I ask annoying but necessary questions.

  • Proposal & Scope

    02

You get a clear scope, timeline, and pricing model (fixed, phase-based, or retainer). No mystery billing.

  • Build & Iterate

    03

Design, implementation, and short feedback loops. Frequent check-ins, working software early, not a big reveal at the end.

  • Handoff & Support

    04

Documentation, walkthroughs, and support options so your team isn't lost when we're done.

FAQ

What's your pricing model?

Depends on the engagement. MVPs and clearly bounded projects are usually fixed-price per phase. Consulting and ongoing work are typically monthly retainers.

Do you work with agencies?

Yes, as a specialized partner for complex frontends or critical projects. White-label arrangements are possible.

What time zones do you work with?

I'm in CET and usually work with clients across Europe, UK, and compatible US time zones.

Can you start next week?

Sometimes, but usually not. See the current availability section above for a realistic picture.

Tell me about your project

Send a few lines about what you're working on, timelines, and what you're trying to achieve. I'll get back to you with questions or suggest a quick intro call.

No spam. No mailing list. Just a reply about your project.
